Concord Watches dates back to 1908 when the company first opened its doors in Biel Switzerland with two young watchmakers at the helm. The company’s original focus was to attract the American market which they did successfully. In 1915 Concord Watches introduced what they like to call the first “private label” luxury watch that was adorned with precious gems and looked like a piece of jewelry. This innovation put the fledgling company on the map and attracted lots of attention with the watch buying public. In 1945 President Harry S. Truman presented Concord watches to Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin at the Potsdam Peace Conference to commemorate this historic occasion thereby ensuring the brands international presence as a high quality luxury watch maker. They immediately followed that up with the creation of the first watch made entirely of coins, definitely a conversation piece. Concord Watches’ popularity grew tremendously building a reputation as a manufacturer of precision timepieces with artsy flair. In 1971 Concord Watches caused a sensation with the introduction of the Concord Delirium, the thinnest watch ever built at the time. It boasted a thickness of only 1.98 mm. They subsequently rolled out the Concord Delirium 2 which was even thinner measuring only 1.5 mm thick. Concord Watches consistently wowed the horological world with presenting new and interesting designs with universal appeal. Their other instantly recognizable watch collections are the sporty Concord Mariner, the sleek Concord La Scala, and the refined Concord Saratoga. Today the company turned their attention to the luxury sport watch market with the presentation of the C1 line. The C1 Gravity Tourbillon won the prestigious “Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève” award for best design of 2008, adding another notch in the proverbial belt of Concord Watches.
